Estel

(A site sort of languishing due to disinterest)

"Estel", in the Dunadan language of the Tolkien books, means "hope".

This site is particularly for people who have been through that utter personal hopelessness that induces the need to suicide, but have pulled back; for the moment, at least - only to find that society is as intolerant of the not-currently-suicidal as of the suicidal.

It has been developed as an outgrowth of the alt.suicide.holiday archive website; the content here is more towards acknowledging that life has this annoying tendency to continue, albeit not denying of death nor of the individual's right - and sometimes need - to suicide.

The list that used to be on Yahoo!Groups was deleted by Yahoo because nobody was using it.
